OP. Your thread has just been taken over by middle/north eastern america riders. How do you feel?

not sure if any other shops are like this around you guys, but I called the only dealer i know of in tampa, and was just asking prices on a few things, and the guy goes, it's up to the mechanic if he wants to work on a ski over 10 years old, mine is a 96 and the guy says he's never seen a ski that old in there. I'm thinking wtf are you smoking? don't know if it's true or not, but I find that hard to believe

thanks for the info, i'll keep that in mind in case i need to take it in for serious work, but there is a local guy right round the corner from me who seems alright, and i was just seein how much rebuilding the carbs would cost, but i'm gonna try to do it myself first.

your in bradenton ? heck your close enough to come and ride the peace river with us ! and i'm 99% sure i'm doing the ski fest on August 4, but i'm not 100% sure yet.

as far as the dealership... no thanks... don't go that route except maybe to buy a cheap part like a primer kit or oil filter. there are a few good guys in bradenton, you won't have trouble finding good help :)

Dr Honda charges 65/hr plus rebuild kit ~50 bucks per carb plus shipping to PA.

i'm in ruskin, bout 20 miles north or bradenton, links to ski fest? i'll be up in gville that weekend, plus ski isn't operational yet, yea i'm as cheap as they come, i just wanted to see what things would cost in case i needed it, i'll try to do it myself, then see what happens, good to know Dr. honda does them too!

i'll send pm with link/info
50+ ski's & jet boats for 3 days hitting bars, bay's and mangrove runs, good times, i just run up for the big saturday runs, one run of 80 miles and another of about 40., then make the drive back home, its 2 hours for me.
when your operational, join us for some river runs, or some beach rides, the peace is maybe 1.5 hours south for u, about 45 min for me, but its a great run, we do about 45 miles refuel, then another 30-40, and good peeps, we always have at least 3 x4's in the group, and a couple of 4 strokes and once in a while my brudder on the boat.

ruskin is a good launch point, your smack dab in the middle of water heaven !

we also do the Kissimmee river semi often (3x a year) the Harris Lake chain (orlando) in Late August, longboat key once a year, siesta key once a year, blah blah, we have at least 10 rides a year that are within an hour & change for you, small groups of 4-7 skis usually.
