Well guys here is my story... I'm looking to purchase my first jetski.. I've owned atv's and snowmobiles in the past now lookin to get into a nice 97 or newer xp.. I took a look at two yesterday with no luck so far..
#1. 2004 XPDI - Guy was asking $3,700, took me a good week to get him to take $3,000 over the phone before i went and looked at it (2hrs away).. Got there and it was in descent shape.. usual scratches.. front bumper fell off? Well i went to check the compression and both cylinders were at about 100psi!!!
After that check we hooked it up to a hose and started her up and it sounded like a lawnmower!! it would idle good at around 1500rpm but when you gave it some gas it was a mess..
#2.. 1997 XP.. guy was asking $2,000 obo.. went there battery was dead had to jump it.. one cyl was at 140psi - i thought ok were looking better.. then the other one was just barley at 120psi.. didnt even bother starting it.. i just stopped there and left..
Its slim pickens up here in upstate ny, hopefully i can find one worth purchasing before the season!
