No beep when lanyard connected

03 GTI LE-RFI...cruising along and everything went dead...dash out and engine shut off. Towed in and no electrical power when lanyard connected. Battery 12.4v, all fuses check out with mulit-meter. Could the lanyard be bad? Thanks

check all batt cables power and grounds for good contact

There are 2 threads on this subject the last few days.

"No power when lanyard connected" & "no power again" ...search for them.

Try cleaning the lanyard and post with soapy water or a pencil eraser....no grease or harsh liquid cleaners.

check the accesoies earth wire hasnt broken off. this happened to mine with the exact same symptoms

Some machines must be "woke up" first by pressing the start / stop button.
