'94 Explorer with the Rotax 657 engine. Worked my way through some impeller issues, boat was running great on test run. I slowed down to idle after running 1/2 to WOT for 10ish mins and the engine stalled. Had been running for about 1/2 hr total. Now the engine is hard to turn over. Starter will barely move it, even with spark plugs removed. I can turn it over by hand using a strap wrench on the flywheel but it is hard. No difference with the pump and shaft removed, so it is definately an engine issue. Any advise before I pull this motor apart? How does the oil system work? Are the ball bearings on the crank shaft oiled in some manner that I am missing?

Yes... sorry, but it sounds like the engine needs to come apart.

If the pump/driveshaft is disconnected, and the plugs are out... you should be able to turn the engine relatively easy.

Since it's tight... things need checked over, internally.
