I got given my first Jet Ski two days ago. It is a 1993 Seadoo XP. It was previously owned by my uncle who last used it in the summer of 2007. It ran totally fine and was winterized in the fall of 2007, but it was never taken out of storage until he gave it to me two days ago. I was going to empty the gas and get fresh gas in the tank, new spark plugs, new battery, and a new plug for the rear that makes it so you don't sink......whatever that is called. Is there anything else I should try before my first attempt at firing it up? Also is this a two stroke where I need to mix fuel and oil?

wow

how about waiting more than 30 seconds for a reply?

the term is "drain plug".

Yes, it's a 2 stroke. I believe it mixes it 'for' you. There are 2 tanks, but I am more familiar with 99 and newer models, so I may be wrong.

I'd just start it up.

if it has the grey fuel lines, then i'd replace the selector valve (on/off/res switch), go thru the carb/s, which for that yr, you'll need to pull the intake off, and install new fuel line..(autozone/kragens..), you'll need about 15ft of 1/4in.

i just had the same boat same circumstances as far as storage: i ran 2.5 gallons of 50:1 fuel, also a tablespoon or so (not exact) of said fuel to cylinders to get it to fire. make sure you ck oil level, grease driveshaft fitting(zerk under plastic flywheel cover) so far so good for me have been riding for about 2 weeks now every other night

ok like i said this is my first ski......so where is the drain plug supposed to go cause i dont see a hole in the rear where it fits into??
