new owner of a 95 speedster and need some help

I bought a 95 speedster about 2 months ago and put it in the water for the second time last weekend. I am having a problem with the port engine not tacing out like the starboard engine. When i throttle up on both engines the starboard will tac out a 7000 rpms but the port one goes to 4000 rpms and slowly climbs to 7000 rpms. I changed the plugs thinking that might be the problem but same thing. also the port engine idles ruff and is hard to start sometimes. Any help would be great.

What do the spark plugs look like?

What's the compression?


It probably just needs a good carb rebuild... but check the compression to make sure the engine is healthy.

The plugs are black and the compression on all 4 cylinders are between 120 and 125 psi.
