It's a 96XP. If running correctly it should be just over 55mph on water at 6800-6900rpm. It takes a lot of work and money to get them up to 60. Welcome to the forum.

You've got the king of 787 mods Matt Braley already here. He will guide you in the right direction

What part of Fl are you in?

I just want you to understand the potential before you drop coin and are disappointed. You have the right ski that's for sure. How much have you ridden it in it's stock form? I'd just like you to have areas in mind that you want to see more or less of.

Some guys like the loose feel of stock sponsons and enjoy the ability to slide and spin for example. I like to set mine up like buoy racers so I have good acceleration and they ride like your on rails. Aftermarket trim tabs are a mod I think everyone should have. The help the boat smooth out and stop porpoising so much.

You can call or text me at (850)259-1581 for questions or pics and prices of aftermarket parts if you'd like.

in my experience with XP ownership I focused more on acceleration and mid-range than I did top end because at the end of the day, the top end difference between 55-60 really wasn't significant to me, but how quickly I got there was more of a priority, especially how quickly I popped from 25-50 when I pegged the throttle.

Prok Flame arrestors, jetted stock carbs, factory spec 1, EWCI, jetted waterbox, swirl prop was my favorite setup. I still ran under 60, usually 58ish, but the holeshot and midrange were so much fun.

I was never a fan of the aftermarket sponson's, I didn't like turning on rails, got tossed quite a few times and it got annoying and occasionally painful now that i'm in my mid 40's, so I kept the stockers on my personal ski.

What are sponsons? I'm 22 barely in 16 days don't think getting tossed will kill me yet haha don't have any problems staying on it the way it is surprisingly I haven't actually fliipeed it yet

They are the two black fins(stabilizers) on either side of the rear hull just under the bond line. The original ones are not that aggressive but aftermarket ones really dig in.

Nice looking ski I would do a mild mod keep it on pump gas so it lasts a few seasons before your sinking money in it again

You could put 5 grand into that thing and it wont be a top 5 XP in florida. Hell Matt owns 3 of the 5! LOL

Your green. Get it running right stock, maybe keep your eye out for handling mods and a UMI and READ lots of threads on this website. No only read, but comprehend.
