I was looking to get a riding jacket to throw over my life vest on chilly mornings/nights or cold days in general. The only one ive found is in a seadoo catalog from my dealer.

Do you guys know of any other brands/companies that have something similar?

This is what I use, a lot less bulky than a PFD and a jacket, the problem is I'm not sure you can find them, it looks like Overton's and Gander Mountain is closing them out, the only size they have listed is 3XL. You might be able to find one elsewhere.

WOW... we can use these legally ?

I LIKE this idea.... and i'm all over it ! edit.. dammit they only have 3XL,, how big can that be holy crap !

for cold days.. I use a dry top in combination with a neoprene vest (I have two different ones) and I love neoprene vests vs standard nylon but this idea really appeals to me !

I can check the makers of the two model's I have, one is west marine I know, the other I have no idea. but both provide a little extra warmth...

That looks pretty nice but I would really like something with a hood so I can where it on the beach when the sun starts to go down. And I think I would prefer neoprene over nylon. Looks like I'll have to keep hunting around. I may just get seadoo one but then problem is it's on back order...

1.5 Mm Hooded Long Sleeve Rash Vest 90% Neoprene 10% Thermal Mix

this might fit the bill, but it looks like it would be uncomfortable, but of course i'm in FL, we only deal with (what we consider) cold weather riding about 3 months a year...

ebay $55

Ya that ones not too bad, I'll have to get on eBay and look around. That seadoo one really is the coolest one I've seen, wish it wasn't on back order :(

can you post a link/image to the seadoo one... not sure what exactly it is....

and my mistake, I re-read the first post, realized now that you want a jacked to go over, not under... for the record, my buddies just throw on a thick oversized wind breaker over their jacket. I went the more snug dry top route under the jacket. velcro neck and wrists.

i'm doing just fine with my dry top under my vest, but I always like buying ride gear or at least shopping for it :)

i have an older late 90's seadoo yellow and purple float coat in almost mint condition and am glad i kept it:)

Spim for some reason it's giving me an error when I try to post pics: but if you go to google and type in "neoprene jacket seadoo" it is the very first picture. It's black, grey and neon yellow

my brother gave it to me years ago when he sold his seadoo and i never wore it. i got rid of my seadoo 97 gsx in 04 and now have another. i may use it yet lol!

Yep I've got the ole Seadoo float coat as well. I have a couple suits made by Mobby's as well. They are high quality and slip through cheap sometimes.

I have found a wet and dry suit before as well.

I like the idea of the JT jackets,

Lou... how big do those Mediums run ? I'm 5-9 175 I might be interested but I don't want to end up with something tight/restrictive. I've been reasonably comfortable layering a long sleeve tshirt under a dry top with a PFD over the top. This season not only has it been unseasonably cold out there but one of my ride buddies is a Rhode Island Transplant from this summer and his blood hasn't thinned out yet so he's been refusing to accept my excuses of it being too cold to ride, dragging me out no matter what..

i'll send a PM.

Tim, I got your PM, but since y'all have the same question I'll just answer it here.

I'm 5'7" about 170 lbs., originally I ordered the jacket in a large, it was way big, but not big enough to wear over the pfd. I believe the pfd is meant to be worn over the jacket. I sent it back and got the med., for me the medium is a good fit, but with the pfd over the jacket I felt it was just too restrictive, just too much bulk.

Honestly, when the weather starts to turn here the water temp. drops also, so I tend to ride a lot less aggressively. So usually I just wear a sweat shirt under the PFD, I also have a pair of neoprene socks, but that's about it. This is not much of a sales pitch for selling the jacket, but I'm just trying to be honest.

you'd never survive in the insurance business with sales tactic's like that lol

appreciate the candor, I think you talked me out of it lol

Well Lou from everything I've read about the seadoo one it is actually ment to be worn over your PFD, so the tour jacket you mentioned must be slightly different I'm guessing by the way you describe it.

Yep, the tour jacket fits just like a regular jacket. So to get one that would fit over the pfd it would have to be pretty large, and the arms and shoulders would be way big. Actually everything that I have read about the Jetpilot tour coat, it doesn't even mention to wear over the pfd or the pfd outside.
