i have a 1988 seadoo jetski. it came with a westcoast exhaust pipe, and rev limiter. the info on the rev limiter is worn off, so i don't know which connections to hook up for the particular rpm's. i would really appreciate it if someone could reply with the info.
also, what is the max safe rpm limits these skis should be run at?

thanks!

Again, you've posted your year model as an 88. Are you sure of this? The first jet ski to come out by Seadoo was the SP with the 587 engine but it was listed as being out in 1989. I do know they made their first ski in 88 but didn't think it was available to the general public until 1989.

88 was the first year. I've seen a couple and they are listed in the Sea-Doo spec book.
I'll see if I still have the instructions for that rev limiter.

West Coast was a great shop... but I think they've been closed up for 12 or 13 years now. I had a JS440 fully pimped out by them. It was fast.

If chester has the info for you... he's truly "Da-man."

Hin...

That's why I mentioned in your other post, to read the last 2 digits of your HIN number. This will tell you specifically which one you got.

Yes, the first models were on the market in 1988. But, this was close to 89, so there were not many of them made. Almost every part distributer will not even list the 88 models. The 88 and 89 are basically the same, so any part from the 89 should fit the 88......

I found the instructions for Advent, Rossier and Micro Touch, but no Westcoast instructions. I don't think Westcoast made their own limiters. Does your rev limiter have dip switches or jumpers?

the factory limit was 6500, and unless you have a bunch of mods (or your pump is bad)... that engine won't see more than that in the water.

So... I would set it to 6500.
