Was in water today when I took a peak under the seat while it was running. I saw a stream of water spurting out of a hole in the purple colored cooling chamber??( is that what this is) Anyway, upon further inspection the pencil tip size hole is to the left of a nipple that is sticking out of this purple thing.(I say left when you are standing on the starboard side of the ski and looking straight at the purple chamber). It looks like whatever was there made a round impression. Is there another nipple that goes here? Can I just seal up this hole without causing any problems? If so, should I use that epoxy clay type bond that you knead with your hands to activate it?

Please , any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

good idea. I'll be back with a picture as soon as can get one, are pictures hard to post on this site?

For some,,, I ended up downloading TapAtalk App. Super easy to do photos from there. But try it the traditional way first as many upgrades have been done to the site...

I am dealing with same thing right now on a 96' xp I just picked up. Those round raised parts are freeze plugs in your upper exhaust chamber ( purple pipe ) I took mine off yesterday as it did have a pin hole leak in one of the freeze plugs on back side but blew open larger yesterday and filled boat with a lot of water.
Someone had epoxied before me but that is only a temporary bandaid to the problem.
Take pipe off and grind off purple paint and corroded areas on all 4 freeze plugs then have an experienced welder tig round aluminum onto freeze plugs area. I have been reading multiple threads on this problem and it seems very common to have this repair done.
Also upload those pics when you get a chance.

thanks Rob for the info. I'll come back with a picture to better clarify what I have going on

That must be the first casting hole that starts leaking. One of ours just popped a hole in the same place. Right behind the fitting for the water line. There is a sticky note about the JB Weld repair to it. You have to rough it up big time, use aluminum screen and the Good JB Weld. Let it set for atleast 2 days. That's a JuryRig repair NOT Mickirig.

thanks guys for the info. I tried posting a picture here but was unsuccessful, but my hole is similar to Able's photo. Anyway after I started probing the "pinhole" the corrosion went further out. I roughed up the area and went with the JB weld repair. It sealed up like a rock, looks good. I'm going to try it out tomorrow. If it sticks as well as it hardens I should be good to go.

Cost me $100 to do both manifolds at my local welding shop (4 plugs) - If the JB pops out you'll be up the creek with or without a paddle???

Just had my two freeze plugs on lower side tig welded with discs for free at my buddies equipment repair shop. Installed it last night. Going to lake soon!

The jb will be a temp repair, remember it is being exposed to water and exhaust temps, carbon.

I kinda cheated. My Wife works at a high school with a welding program. She got the instructor hired full time. He's on it! I would bet you could use fiber glass to fix it too. Low pressure and prep it right it would work. I have used fiber glass for a lot of stuff.
