Hi guys, I haven't been around for quite a while. I need new grips. Will standard bike grips fit? Any of the old timers still around?

Stock ones are still available if you want that. Any 7/8” mountain bike ones also fit fine.

I was always a fan of ODI Rogue or Ruffian grips myself.

I put Rogues on every 2 stroke I owned, but a couple friends had Ruffian and were pleased with them as well.

Hockey stick tape.

I know it sounds "redneck" (not meaning to offend anyone) but it works very well and is cheap. If you are going for looks buy real grips. I like function over looks, all grips I have tried slip or twist eventually and one of my biggest gripes using anything motor driven is if my grips fail. Do one half wrapped layer on the bar, twist the tape sticky side out and do a pass with 3/4 inch spacing to give a series of "rungs" and a knob on the end followed up by another 1/2 wrapped layer. The grip will never slip, twist, fall off. When it does wear out just cut it off and redo it. A roll of tape is around $2 and can give you two or more sets of grips. I use it for everything, Doos, sleds, 4-wheelers, AR builds. I don't play Hockey though.....

The OEM grips are $25 and still available. I have never had the OEM or ODI lock on grips twist.

Oem grips are an excellent option, my first choice if I went with a real grip. They are too thick for my preferences though. The smaller diameter of the tape is just my style. My only gripe with oem grips is they leave a sticky residue on the hands after they age and start to deteriorate. I am leaving them on my 97 gtx since that machine is so "cush" and not one I throw around. The oems are worth the money.

Hey Jake... good to see you back.

Any ATV grip will work on your skis. The motorcycle version has one grip slightly oversized for the twist throttle. ATV's have a thumb throttle so both go on a 7/8" bar. I personally like the Pro Taper pillow grips. You can get them in different colors, you can get them with or without the hand protector, and they have good grip when wet. They wind up on all my PWC. They were on the XP when you road it down to the point.

My profile pic shows the ODI Lock on Rogue grip. Really nice grip and looks cool. If you go to their web site and order direct you can have the colored aluminum bands on the ends custom engraved. I didn't do that on mine. You will however need to trim the inside hand guard to clear the thumb throttle. It's no big deal with a razor blade though. I think they sell a model of grip that has no inboard protectors. Might be better off with that model. I'm happy with them.
