I have a 02 GTX that needs to have the carbs cleaned. I have read that you have to take the carbs off before the exhaust and that taking the exhaust off is not needed or recommended.?? I also read that there are four allen bolts that hold the carb on. I see 4 bolts that look like they are the ones holding the carbs on but they look to be 10mm bolts. Are these the correct ones or are they something else. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

you will have to remove the top of the air box, and you will see the bolts holding the carbs to the manifold. You will also have to remove the cables and fuel lines.

This wasn't fun but it saved me $500

Thanks for the help so far!!! Now that I have them off and have looked at them... Any tricks on getting them apart and open? I tried to open the rt side carb in the pic and those little screws are ON THERE!! This is nothing like the carbs on my motorcycle, on the outside.. I was also wondering what gaskets will have to be replaced and what other projects I should tackle while I am working on the ski (146hrs)? I thought about cleaning the RAVE valves because of the very nice writeup on this forum. Again, thank you for the help so far!!

Use an Impact Driver or cordless impact drill/driver #P2 bit to help loosen screws, or an Irwin Vise-grip LW-10 locking wrench
