got a new motor from sbt dropped it in, rebuilt carbs ,dont have gray fuel lines, boat had been sitting for 3 years with blown up motor anyways got it all back together took to lake got started ran it for 10 min then statred it up again and ran for another 5 min just checking to see if everything was working,, ran fine. 3 days later go to start stater wont turn over so i take plugs out and turn over fuel shoots out of cylinders continued trying to get fuel out by turning over seemed like it was all out have good spark but engine wont fire I had accidentlly left fuel selector on but this should not have caused feul to fill in cylinders must be something in carbs stuck?? anyways good spark , fuel ,compression what gives no start

Are you sure it's fuel?

Even if the needles were hanging open... I don't think it would continue to draw fuel since the fuel system is a loop. It wouldn't be able to draw a siphon.

OK... I don't normally recommend thins... but use some starter fluid to help clear what ever is in the engine.

i tried that two times nothing when i pulled plugs just a little cloud of smoke came out of cylinders, dont know how water could get in i put boat on trailer pulled out of water started it for a secound to get water out of exghaust system two days later this is going on seems to be mostly fuel from what i can tell but about 3/4 to 1 cup worth of something also starter will only turn over 3 or 4 times then just quit will try and push start button and will get a beep and nothing then have to undo tehter and reattach for starter to be enabled again??? thanks for reply any help or suggestions would be appreciated

I think that one beep is low voltage. It sounds like your battery is weak. Is it a new battery. If it sat for three years you need a new battery. Take the battery out and have it tested. These things like fully charged batteries to start. Also, if you want to recharge the battery, make sure the battery switch is in the OFF position. Otherwise, you will damage the MEPM.

Got it started it was just really loaded with gas It has a brand new battery and I also put it on charger for good measure before trying to use it. Still not sure how this gas could get in here. I checked the vent that goes to the outside just under rub rail seems to be working that is the only thing I could tell that would allow the pressure from gas tank to escape. any ideas anyone thanks.
