Purchased 2 2005 SeaDoo GTX skis today. These are my first skis and so far not so good. One will not get on plane. You can feel the power but it will not go. Then the overheat light came on so we put it back on the trailer. The previous owner said they ran fine this past weekend. Thoughts or ideas?? Thanks

So....you didn't test ride before you bought them.

First thing to check is the sc...no matter the symptoms...check them both first.

Don't run them again....check oil...check plugs...check pump....check tunnel...check codes

Do the engine RPMs go up but the ski basically does not get moving? If so, you probably have a bad wear ring. This could also be the over beat issue as the water is bypassing the impeller and not being forced through the exhaust. Also, the coolant is cooled inside your ride plate. If the ski does not move forward, high engine RPMs would flow the coolant but the coolant may not be cooled very efficiently.
