I just finished pulling the motor out and removed everything except splitting the case. When I removed the motor mount plate I found a crack in the lower half of the crank case under the back cylinder. So, since I'll be buying another motor can I put a larger motor like a 110 hp in my 1997 GTI. So, with all that where is the best place & motor to purchase.

You can do what ever you want... but the 720 engine is the largest engine of that type. SO... if you want to put an 800 engine in your ski... you will need all of the supporting electronics, and you will have to fabricate the mounts. Generally... it's not worth the time and $$$ involved, since you can just buy a GTX, and you will have your exact ski with the larger engine.

It's just not worth it then like Dr. Honda & Bills86e stated. Thanks guys I didn't know unless you ask. Then who has the best rebuilt 720 engine around.

Since I know that you have had a bad experience with SBT, you might want to try full bore. I have not had any experience with them, but I haven't heard anything bad.

If the crankcase is cracked you might not have a rebuildable core, which could be a problem. Another option is to buy a used engine, you can try minnetonka4me he might have one.

Hi , i just got my jugs back from full bore, having them bore them and got there top end kit, all parts and gaskets needed. I also had them shave a new set of rave valve's, total was $315 with return shipping included in that price. It took about two weeks........I am happy with their work.

lol he said jugs...

anyway, if i buy a 2002 GTX with a blown 4 stroke, can I transplant my entire setup engine, MPEM, etc to the new hull?

I'd love the new hull w/a 951 in it... has anyone done that?
