Hey guys, posted this in another thread but had a few specific questions.

Here is my new girl picked up yesterday!!! 2008 RXT 255!

Did not test drive, everything seems very good. Been readin everything I can find.

Wanted to go ahead and change oil, and I believe it needs synthetic 10w40, correct?

Any preferences? No amsoil dealers near me. I know it has to be pumped out.

Also maybe change plugs, just to be safe, anyone know what type of plugs?

How do you flush after riding?? Don't see a hose connection like my GTI 2 stroke?

Thanks in advance

Seadoo uses semi now, not full synthetic. Originally it was because os the SC, now they semi in all the 4-tecs.

Thanks for all the help Coastie!

Went ahead and got the premium membership, least I could do for all the great info here!

Rear of the ski you will see a tube coming straight out at you. It is threaded to accept a garden hose. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a quick disconnect for the hose, it will make it much easier for you.

Run it for less than a minute as you are only flushing the jet and the exhaust due to the engine having a closed loop system. Also, the ceramic seal gets NO cooling when on the hose. So one minute max.

Joe you are a gentleman and a scholar!!! And (like me) ruggedly handsome! :D

I can not tell you all that I have learned simply by living here and reading things. I am happy to help if I can. Every now and then I give out bad advice as well,,, LOL

Congratulations on the new ski, she looks great!

Couple other things you may want to consider while you are performing your initial inspection and pre-season maintenance (especially if you do not have any previous maintenance info):

Coolant - if it has not been replaced in last 2 years probably should go ahead and do that. Easy to do and good preventative maintenance to prevent internal corrosion.

Jet pump - I would probably take the jet pump off and inspect the wear ring, impeller and bearings/grease inside the cone. Make sure there is no water leaks, or any other problems. Being a used ski you have no way to know what has been done or if any proper maintenance in the past. Even if you find nothing wrong you will have piece of mind that everything is in good working order.

How many hours on her?

Well I finally got to ride it this weekend, HOLY CRAP!!!!!

I thought low 40's was pretty fast, uhhhh no, this thing flies!!

Runs really well and got the speedo to just touch 71 mph, very happy with this purchase!

GPS should net you 65-66mph in stock trim. I just installed a Riva Stage 1 on a buddies 2008 RXTX 255 and he GPS'd 72.4mph.
