I didnt know what I was doing and ran the garden hose after I shut the motor off and got water in the motor and pulled the plugs and cranked it over and did this till I think all water was out and put wd40 and cranked over and ran fine and then took it to the local dealer and had a compression test and had 160 in each cylinder and took it to the lake and it ran fine for about 5 minutes and then just died like it locked up and brought it home and pulled plugs thinking I had more water in the engine but the plugs were dry and white on top and will not crank like it is locked up and I pulled the hose off the oil bottom side of the oil filter and oil ran out like it was full and possibly working properly plus I had added a litttle bit of oil to the gas to try and be safe but probably not enough oil in the gas to actually be safe. What might have happened and is there a way to check to see if it is locked up without taking apart the motor anything to look for would be greatly appreciated. I just bought it off my 60 year old neighbor and is a 2004 gti le RFI with 43 hours and that was the first time out

I dont know I will find it tamaro and try that I tried getting my rubber coated screw driver into the impellor but couldnt budge it but didnt have much leverage and didnt want to try very hard and damage the impellor . It looked like it was direct drive if im not mistaken. im looking for a free shop manual to get a better idea of how this thing works, but may have to buy one.

Also during my 5 minute ride before it died I was hearing a sound like a belt screeching and dont think it was the motor

It is a direct drive, so it could be the jet pump, take the spark plugs out and see if you can turn the motor over. Take the cover off the pto flywheel. If it doesn't you'll need to remove the pump to tell for sure.

Sounds like a bearing gave up. Hopefully it's in the pump.

Did you remove the water right after, or did it sit with water in it?

I dont know if there is water in the motor or not and havent made it that far in researching everything to do , but I did pour some oil in the spark plug holes, but the plugs were bone dry and white looking on top Im getting ready to figure out how to try and get the fly wheel cover off and see if I can turn it and if that doesnt work try and see what I need to do to separate the pump and motor to see which one is locked up. Any suggestions would be great. My friend is an excellent mechanic and will help me fix it but I want to figure it out before i call him over and have the parts all ordered and here and also want to do it myself with his help so i will know how if it happens again

Got the cover off the fly wheel and can only move it about a quarter inch each way. Can someone show me a pic of this pump im supposed to separate that will distinguish whether it is the pump or motor and where is the best place and cheapest place to buy a shop manual at a one time fee.

The pump... the thing on the back of the ski that makes it go.

Take the cables off of the nozzle. Remove the water feed hose from inside the hull... then remove the 4 nuts. Once that's all off... the pump should slide out.

DO NOT try to start the engine with the driveshaft hanging out the back. Just try to turn the flywheel by hand.

You're probably going to need a shop manual, if you join this forum as a premium member, you can download as many as you like. We would like for you to join longer, but you only need to join for one month.

You can probably find one also by doing a google search.

I was thinking there was something I was missing. i didnt know the housing where the impellor was the actual pump, sorry for the brainfart but this is my first time messing with these things. I normally only work on my polaris RZR and 4 wheeler . You guys are alot of help Thank you :)

By the way your not supposed to put oil in gas in a fuel injected seadoo!!!It ruins the injectors and O2 sensors.... VERY EXPENSIVE :(

Very nice rzr :) This is my second rzr , the first one was a slower red one but now i have a faster camo 2010 :) LOL I also have a new 2011 xp 850 2 seater. i had one of first rzr in southern illinois when they came out and fell in love with it

Thank you for the advise on not putting oil in the gas . I wont do it again , I was just scared the injection may not work from it sitting for 2 years. Maybe thats why the plugs were white but my buddy told me it was probably running lean but I thot the rfi took care of that ?

I pulled the pumpand that was the problem , it freed up the motor :) What do I do next to fix the pump

The pump needs rebuilt. It's not too hard. Once the cone, and impeller are off... it's just a shaft, a couple bearings, and a seal. Replace those parts, and you will be back in biz. (around $100 for all) Normally, you can reuse the shaft... but if it seized, I would think the shaft will be galled.

Nope. The injection on a PWC isn't that smart, but if it is running lean, then there is a problem with the injectors, or fuel pump. BUT... get the pump rebuilt, put in some fresh spark plugs... and take it for a ride. Worry about one thing at a time.
