Locking up then starting again?

Yet another problem with my 98 SPX, everything was going well while I was riding then I was wide open going good, turned around, went wide open again and it locked up. After that I called my dad to see if he could tow me in but as soon as I hung up with him it cranked over fine and started right back up?

Sounds like it seized then broke free when it cooled down. Or it could be a bad lanyard DESS post. They can cause the ski to shut off immediately then restart when reattached.

You need to do a compression test.

Could be, the last motor in that ski blew from overheating and I went over every part of the cooling system before installing a different motor. I also do have a bypassed mpem because my old one stopped working but we’ve never had an issue with it.
