I can't find one with that part number. Maybe it's old and they don't make it anymore. I see all kinds for the 800 motor tho
If I was going to sell it what should I ask? I have download the instructions for a buyer. It came from a 96 GTI with a 720 motor.

I have no clue. Do you know if it works? Hit up racerxxx with a pm he's doing a HX project with a 720 motor. He might be able to tell you what you can get for it. I'm doing a 720. But I'm giving the ski away to a 12 year old when I'm done. So I don't think making it faster is a good idea! Tho she would probably love the speed.

It works, I don't have a need for it, I'm trying to sell some stuff to fund my GSX project.

Picking up a SBT rebuild 787 engine with 25 hours on it from a guy for a outboard motor that I paid $225 for... LOVE IT.

I can use WSM part #010-818-07k, piston kit (800cc)-1.00mm oversize to 83.oomm bore on my 787 engine, my old piston says .50?

does it say. 83.50 or82.50 or .50
did you use a micometer to check the size? if this is one of the skis you bought the previous owner I would measure it and not take the chance that they may have done something shady

I can get new piston kit cheaply, but my old pistons has .50 stamped on the top, this was a SBT rebuilt engine. Should be standard bored.

Well my 96 GTX had a standard bore the piston was macht 82. dash in the sewing is measured 81.79 or something like that I don't know how big you can bore those cylinders but in order to use the next size you would have to have a bored to that size piston

Sorry was using the phone on my ride home from work.
Anyway I saw the cylinder walls. At a minimum I would have them or hone them myself.you need to use one of theses tools to measure the inside walls of the cylinder so you know what size piston you need. I would not go by what is there for old marks unless you know for a fact it was done right! You can rent one from autozone for free. You give them like 25 buck then when you return them they give you back the money.

I'd assume they are .50mm over size. My questions is what's wrong with the pistons? Why not just re-ring them if they are clean, heck of alot cheaper. Also does SBT serialize their engines with a number? Call SBT with that number and ask them for the correct pistons. Just not sure why the tear down of a 25 hour engine? If it was complete and the guy said it ran I would have tried to fire it or at the minimum lay it in and try to drank it over for a compression test. Before I spent a dime I'd call SBT and VERIFY what they put into it.

Here's the SBT page for pistons

Here's the rings fro $27 a pair--way cheaper then pistons

And you'll need to run a ball hone through it not a stone hone. You'l run a better change of fudging up the walls if you break a stone.

Here is where I buy mine from. I can remember which one I bought whether it was a 180 or 240 grit. I want to say 180. It's got a blue mark at the end of it. And I bought the hone oil from them, a little goes a long way. I haven't touched a stone hone in eons, the dingleberry hones are the way to go. You order it for your bore size. In the 787 that would be 82mm, so you would order an 83mm hone. They come oversize so you don't need to do any math to figure out what size you need.

I had to go back to the beginning to see what was the issues. He found metal shavings from the rotary valve cover. And he's has had bad luck from there I would say. One thing just lead to another.

I like thos honers never seen that type before. Only the three stone type with the spring.

I had to strip down the motor because the rotary gear went, leaving brass shavings in the case. The cylinders and sleeves are great, but one of the pistons has a ding at the top edge above the rings from ripping the motor apart. The piston kit I was looking at was a brand new pair with gaskets for $81. I will call SBT about their piston sizes. Thanks

AG he just picked up another engine in a trade or perhaps he's back to the other engine, I have no idea. WTF are we working on here?

So did you get the SBT for the outboard trade or are we back to the old engine???????

You gotta post what your working on, last you posted was you were getting an SBT, and now you flipped back? Bro, I can't keep up and I was absent the day they did mind reading in class so I missed that lesson.

Ok I'm board so I'm going to go threw the whole post and read everything over again.
I missed something somewhere! Either way sselzer just measure the piston or bring it to an auto parts store and have them do it. Then you can figure out what size piston you need. But if theses are the cylinders in the pics I saw then at very least hone them. They should not be shiny! They should have a cris cross pattern to hold oil to the walls.
Lol it's the top of this page he did pick up a new engine.
But I think he's back to the old one.

I called SBT and those pistons I have are .5 over. I now have to check my replacement cylinder juggs because of my mistake earlier in the build, I may have to buy new pistons anyway.

Here is the only possible reference, possibly?

So they are 82.50?
You can bring them to a machine shop and have them bored to the 83. If the walls can take it. But double check how big you can go first!
