Hello all! I used to work at the local seadoo dealership until they sold out a few years back. I ended up buying their MPEM programmer at their auction. It has pretty old software on it (2.8D) and I was wondering if anyone here maybe has one of the newer update disks or maybe you work at a dealership and could copy it for me. I have the cable needed already - I just would like a copy of the update. It is a very small file and could be emailed easily. Thanks for any info - db

Welcome to the forum....

Db.....you have what most all us want, but can't seem to put our hands on it for less than $1000.....and that's a cheap version. They seem to be a controlled piece of equipment, because with it, you could program keys and become a thief.......so, it must be why they require the passwords and a "dealers" license to own one.
I doubt very seriously that you'll find that upgrade here. But hey, I may be wrong..........I have been before!........

Well I don't feel too bad then because that's almost what I paid for it. Does anyone know what the updates actually do to the programmer? It doesn't actually add any new features to it does it? I haven't had any problems with the current version but I thought it would be nice to have the newest software on it. Does anyone know where one would have a programmer repaired if needed?

I have V3.3 of the s/w i think you are looking for and the files are about 800K on a floppy disk. I can email these to you if you still need them?
Nb - I have not used these myself yet as my programmer has locked me out requiring the password routine to be reset. As i'm not a dealer i cannot use the USA service as it requires a 6 digit dealer number so i guess i'll have to try a local dealer for help unless you can advise otherwise?
RSVP. Thanks.:)

If I remember correctly you might have to use the password on your programmer to update it,If it is working fine like it is leave it alone!!JMHO>Marvin

That is there version,The real reason is to protect dealers, make sure when there is a problem the customer has to take it to a dealer. They are trying to put independent shops out of buisness, but guess what??It didnt work!!

Updates.......

Updated versions are common as the years go by. When new motors come out with a different setting or something different from the years gone past.

If you have one that is doing what you need it to do, then there really is no reason for an update.

There is a lot more to the idea that it's only a product that a dealership has because they want you to pay for it. It's like saying I know how to slip a magnetic strip into an ATM machine to get someones card, then get the money.

It's part of a security system. There are hundreds of electronic devices that they use at dealerships that the general public doesn't have. Car/boat or PWC's...........but, if your a lucky one and have it, then you can do a world of good, helping other with their skis.

There is basically nothing I need one for when it comes to working on the older 2 stroke model engines. It's nice to have for the RFI and DI motors along with the 951's. You can retard or advance the timing and change the RPM limiter. But, these are things I dont' need to do.

Beware of those you see on ebay. Last year when I thought about buying one, it was advertised as almost new..."going out of business".....but when I questioned him on the password for logging on, I found out he didn't have it........so, beware of MPEM programmers for sale. YOu have to make sure they are activated and you have a password to use with them.

I want the VCK and B.U.D.S. to run on my laptop. That's my goal!....
