Just bought an 04 3D from individual with 17 hours on it and a ``fresh```top end from Hi Mountain here in Billings, MT. went out to break in and after what I hought was very sluggish performance and 20 mins,it died. I was able to restart after some time and milk it back in where we examind plugs connections, etc. with no luck finally got it home and did a compression check warm and the no.1 cyl was 30 pounds and 2 was 127. The first overhaul was do to scoring of the no.1 piston, possible submerge. no.1 is dead again does anyone have a clue as to what might be happeneing if in fact there is another hole in the top of the piston. could there be a leak somewhe that is letting some amount of water into the cyl.. the hull was very dry after riding, so dont suspect any airbox ingestion. any ideas appreciated...

---CALL THEM and let them know about the PSI reading...or you can do a leak down test to see where the pressure is escaping to. Did they replace the piston in the rebuild or just the rings? hmmmm...

Yeah the Ski is back out at the shop, talked to them today and they said it appeared #1 was running lean but no damage to the piston and minor scarring to cyl (they think its possible to hone). they are going to do a leak down and see where the leak is and check for vacuum leak in the chamber. We'll see
