LOOSE FRESHWATER FLUSH CONNECTION

After flushing my 2018 GTI SE 130, I had a heck of a time unscrewing the hose, the connection fitting was turning (loose). After a few minutes of web searching, I learned that this is a pretty common occurrence. I was surprised how poorly this though-hull fitting is secured. I was wondering if anyone has used a marine sealant like 5200 around the through-hull to prevent any leaking?

I just broke mine yesterday too, my hose literally would not come out of it so I had to break it off and now I don't know what the hell the part is called or how I go about replacing it.
