Looking to purchase a 2004 Sportster 155hp, any opinions on it?

Is this a good year model, should I beware of anything?

Is it a closed loop cooling motor?

I've been told it does not handle well at 30mph cause its not shooting enough water, I was also told that the computer chips in seadoo jetboats are POS and go out, and there are cooling issues.

I really like the boat, and I do not want to make a bad purchase.

Yes, it is a closed loop cooling system, no issuses with my 05. 48 mph gps,handles awesome.Just don't be sitting in the spotters seat if your jumping wavesuke:

The computers usually only go out when people do things like jump their boat with a running vehicle or install the batteries backwards.

As for the handling? Whoever you talked to must be a complete idiot, dealership maybe? Jet boats can pull of turns and such that must other boats can only dream off. Not to mention they handle like a dream at almost any speed, going slow onto the trailer can take a little practice.

We've never had any cooling issues with any of our seadoos.

I agree with everything lee said. I have a 2004 and its awesome no problem with it at all. I always put my hungover friends in the spotter seat :cheers: Befor you buy it get it hooked up to budds for the full history, It will tell you hr on the boat aswell as maintinace that was done and how it was drivin.

What is "budds" ? Im looking at a few boats and would like to know how to find out how to get the REAL history of it.

Take it to a seadoo dealer and they hook a laptop up to the boat. Kinda like you do with a car but with way more info.
