Hey,
So I am looking to buy my first seadoo ever and my brothers friend is selling his 2002 seadoo XP limited. It has the original motor never rebuilt and new hydro turn and seat on it. I would like to know more about these seadoo's. Is there engine problems that come with the 2 strokes? what is the oil to gas ratio i should use? How much would it cost to get the emergency kits for the seadoo's cuz you need those in canada(rope, fire extinguisher? etc). Are these seadoo's reliable and good? I am a student in college and I don't have much money for repair costs. is 3500 a good deal on it? all info will help and be much appreciated.
Thanks Andy.

my 2 cents

not hav'n much money, not say'n their proned for problems, but an 800cc xp, if you like that style, would suite you better, and a hellofalot easier to work on/with.

Not sure how the currency works, but thats a butt-load of dough, for that ski, here in the states.

Thanks for the input and i believe that the canadian dollar and US dollar are around the same.. i forgot to mention it comes with a trailer

XP

I paid $2,800 for a 2009 single trailer + 2002 XP w/a rebuilt engine.

Sadly, even though it had a warranty, the place that rebuilt it (Don's Sea-Doo in Hallam, PA) is shit... and it blew up 2 months outside warranty...

Had my friend rebuild it (he's done 3 of my engines, and 100s of others) and it works GREAT.

Best $ I ever spent I love this XP. if you are looking to have passengers / tow a skier, you may want a 3 seater...

but if you want a wicked ride, the XP is amazing.

Make sure the trim and bildge pump work.

*Don's didn't fix that, nor did they think that a few missing bolts would be a big deal, not to mention that most of them were not even tight...

sounds a bit pricey to me too, around here they are like 2800-3200 but those are re-built motors. a good maintained 951 will need the top end rebuilt about 200 hours, its just the nature of the beast. they are high-strung, high proformance engines. if you don't rebuild it wehn it starts to ping you'll throw a wrist pin and there goes your block. if your really looking to get it always water test everything before you buy it.
