Hello, I have two jet skis that both need gel coat repairs. I have a 96 SPI and a 96 XP. I would like to try on the SPI first. I have attached some pictures of the damage which I worry could be to big to repair. I planned to get one of the below kits. I would appreciate any advice I can get. Am I able to make this gel coat repair match perfectly?

Any repairs will never match 100%. The new white will be whiter
Thanks for the reply! Well hopefully it matches somewhat after sanding and buffing. Better than it looks now. Does this look fixable with one of the kits I listed?

I can’t speak on those kits but I repaired a spot like that on my ski boat after a Seadoo (also mine) hit the side in a freak accident. It was actually a little bigger than that, but I was able to fix it in a couple hours and it’s barely noticeable now. Of course I can see it, but most people overlook it completely.

I agree you can never get the color to match perfectly however that spot is definitely fixable and will look much better fixed. Go on Youtube and watch videos, you’ll get a good idea of the steps on there

Yeah it will definitely look better fixed. Thanks! I have watched a lot of videos now.

I just did some spots on the bottom of mine. It was black and color match was pretty close. Third is where I got it from, same place Seadoo gets there’s.

The kit came with the gel coat already mixed with the pigment, a little bottle of hardner, a piece of sand paper, 2 small things of thin plastic and a packet of rubbing compound.

Did you need any other supplies than what came with the kit?

I used extra sand paper. It came with a piece of 800grit but I started 400 and worked up to 2000. Didn’t shine up until I used the rubbing compound it came with.

Do you think there is enough gelcoat in the kit to fix my damaged spot?
