2002 gti I recently had a flooded ski and water in engine, I took out plugs and got all the sludge and water out of motor. I have it running and it starts right up and runs fine for about 5 min. then the continuos beep with no lose of power. I can see the water coming out the side so I don't think it could be over heating, if I let it sit for 10 min. starts right up goes 5 min. then the continuos beep. I also noted the new plugs are black already. Could this be contaminated oil from the water or could it be overheating? My ears are still ringing!

The beep could be a over heat condition or just a bad sensor. When the temp sensor gets hot it makes contact to ground, at about 200 degrees. Check the wire going to it or the sensor itself.

from what you've posted, sounds like you have it on the trailer....dont be run'n it like that, the pump and carbon area are cooled down by being in the water..with it on trailer, those parts/areas are get'n really hot.

I unhooked wire from heat sensor and it no longer makes a long beep. I rode it all day and ran fine. I will replace the heat sensor and hope that a bad sensor was all that it was, maybe it is damaged from all the sludge that was in the motor from the flooding.
