Hey, I been going thru issue after issue, but I think it finally good, got my cone on again lock tighted all the bolts.

Took it out today, ripped it hard for a minute or 2 came back in.
There was a bit of water in the bottom, just thought it was regular ammount.

Took a friend out with me for about 20 mins came back in, and there was more water, then went out another 20 mins and then the whole bottom was pretty much full, almost to the bottom of the battery and thats when I took it back in, drained it.

Where can the water come from? There was no leak last year, worked mint, then changed carbon seal, drive shaft, jet pump, cone. The first few times I went out this year it worked, no leaks, then I dropped my cone last weekend, and got about the same amount of water in last time as this time after I put the new cone on and lock tighted everything.

When I run it by the dock with the seat off I cant see any water come in thru the carbon seal, its just when I get out there, rip it over waves and stuff and come back the water is in.

What ski is this? The 787 powered skis tend to corrode the weld plugs in the exhaust pipe and piss water into the hull.

Check the drive shaft boot. When it's on the water take the gray shield off and look at the forward part of the boot.

the carbon seal boot still looks pretty good, you saying take off the seat and cover and drive on the water watching the boot?

Just take the seat and shield off and let it float in the water. See if any water comes in. You could keep it in neutral and watch it if you want. If its going to leak you will see it.

I agree, the good news is that it starts filling in 30 mins, it should be easy to find. I would do what anthony said above. If no water is coming in. tie it to the dock, or leave it on the trailer backed into the water & start it up. Good chance your cooling system is leaking into the hull. If your at home with it on the trailer now, run it on the hose & see if it starts filling up.

ya I did that yesterday. watched the carbon seal/boot, put it in neutral and reved it for about a minute nothing came in thru there

its at hone ill try the hose

I finally got around to chekc ing to hose... when i connected it there was in internal leak anywhere... hookedi t up and left it on for 20 mins... none of the lines leaked inside... everything looked good other then the underside where the impellor is, it was leaking... coudl this cause a problem? i didnt show inside where the cone is, there was water coming out there, which i assume was coming out the bottom...

and the white tube thing on the jet pump by the top left bolt of the 4 bolts onthe jet pump, it was actually leaking out water, could that be the issue? missin an o ring or something?

at 00:49 in the video, the white tube to the middle of the screen, right of the top left bolt, was leaking.

I hope you didn't hook the hose up and run it without the engine running, if so you likely filled the motor with water. Get out there and Clear it and start it ASAP.

Edit: YouTube link doesn't work

Link doesn't work. I hope you are not saying you ran the hose for 20 min with the motor off. Your motor is full of water if so.
20 min with motor on and hose on either, if you didn't have a leak you do now

Inside the jet drive are 2 little "straws" - about 3 inches long. If you are missing one you are sucking water inside.

Edit:

Siphon Tube

try it now, I had the video set to private.

well I hooked up the hose, turned on the water
looked it all over. then turned on the ski after the video to clear it. did I mess it up???:facepalm:

NEVER turn the water on BEFORE the seadoo is running.

wow im starting to faiiiil on this ski... almost ready to sell it and give up.... i figured you had to turn on the water to fill up the pipe then turn it on so you dont run out of water while the engine is spitting it all out...

I would say it was on for 1 full munite without the engine running... i cleared it all at the end tho... :'''(

#18 is the 2 siphon tubes. Look inside the jet drive. Do you see TWO of these siphon tubes or not? If you only
have one that will certainly pull water into the hull. You will have to replace the missing one if so. Very easy and very cheap.

the siphon tubes won't leak when you're out of the water. #23 if it is leaking inside the hull, would fill things up rather quickly. it is the feed for the cooling system from the pressurized area of the jet pump.

Yes that's true but I was just trying to eliminate one possible cause as the seadoo sure leaked IN the water. So far there has been no answer anyway...

the pump is currently back on, but I think I could see them, and they look broken, so hopefully that's good.. ill take it all apart tomorrow again as its 1030 at night, I did take a picture tho

#23 was leaking from inside out when the hose was on. 49 seconds on the video, it was coming out thru #23

If they are broken as it looks like you may have found at least one cause - hopefully this is it because it's a cheap fix!
