Yep... but I would change all of them right now. No reason to kill a new engine because you filled the carbs full of goo.

You got a great thread going here, Rampage. People are always talking about top end rebuilds, a very common task...but no how-to thread as of yet. (We also need a carb rebuild How-to, too!!)

I am considering buying a 97 GTX in need of a top end job, so keep the info coming.

Well I def learned some stuff the hard way doing this LOL. I took the jugs back off after I kept looking at that gasket..that thing got bend and oil all over it and not to mention a ton of blood ( I punctured a vein on my hand and was pouring blood all over there) so anyway, I got another base gasket and put a very small amount of high temp rtv on the back side and kinda glued it in place..after I let it dry for awhile then I started to put the jugs on and didnt have to worry about fighting to keep the gasket out of my way and then getting it on streight.

should I go back and re torque anything after my first ride on it? Not sure if I should pull the head and re- torque the jugs or just ride it and quit worrying :o

Shouldn't need to re-torque... but since the head is sealed with O-rings... it would be a quick job to do it.

BUT... I wouldn't worry about it.

How did you like dealing with those cage less needle bearings or did your Top End Rebuild come with new caged ones? It was a pain in the ass last time when I rebuilt mine using those cage less ones.. But good job and I hope everything works out when you run it.

I went with the ones that are caged. I was in no way gonna mess with the other ones LOL!! Just glad I didnt drop any down in the motor

I can tell you what the black "leak" is from...the RAVE valve. Typically when they leak its the diaphram slipped off one side of the cap...also the cap can be distorted.

If that was fine and they still leak the valve and housing are wore out. Recommend replacing them before the valve breaks from vibration and falls in.

Wrecked the cylinder too.
