I just got a 2005 RXT with around 85 hours. I did a test ride before I bought it and was able to get it up to around 50-55 mph riding by myself. I thought it probably just needed a tune up because it had been sitting up for a little while according to the previous owner. A few days later I took it out with my son. Around an extra 100 pounds. At that time it lacked any acceleration at all and would not go over around 15-20 mph. The engine would rev fine. Just would not put the power to the water. I believe that it most likely needs a wearing ring based on what I have been reading. What other maintenance should I do on this ski that I just bought. I'm concerned about the supercharger and plan on sending it out for a rebuild very soon. I also plan on changing the oil and replacing the spark plugs. Anything else I should check? Should I go ahead and have the jet pump rebuilt while I replace the wearing ring or just replace the wearing ring and lubricate the pump well? Just want to make sure that the ski performs as it should and lasts for a reasonable number of years. I want it to perform at a stock level and then maybe next season I'll do some upgrades. Thanks for your help.
