I've been enjoying my "new to me" 2000 Islandia for a few weeks now until a I sucked up about a dozen golf sized balls in the impeller et al this weekend.

After I drifted to shore and pulled my boat back to dock and trailer, I took a closer look and realized that my intake grate pivots up on one end to let the rocks in. Is it normal for the grate to do that? I seems like the grate should be fixed in place, no?

Has anyone experienced something like this? It looks like I'll need at least a stator, wear ring and impeller. Repair cost?

That intake grate shouldn't pivot up to allow rocks or debris to enter the gate opening. It might be broken. Look it over real good. If you need parts, you could check out our "parts" link at the top of the page for pricing.
