I found a local deal advertised as below. I thought about calling for more details, but wanted to see if it was even worth it based on the information provided. Looking for thoughts and if it is worth checking on, how much would be a fair offer?

I bought this unit (1997 Sea-D00 GTX (3 seater with neutral and reverse)) in 2004 and never had a problem with it at all until this year when I went to start it.I thought it needed a battery,so I bought a sealed battery($90.00) to find it still wouldn't kick over.To make a long story short, there was oil/water combo in rear cylinder.I will not be getting this repaired due to the fact that I have used thes an average of 2-3 times per year and pay storage on them,so it would be up to you to either repair it or have it repaired.
This boat was(as I say, was) the most dependable ski I ever have had and I have had quite a few.

If not working no more than 500 bucks if your mechanically inclined.
New engine 1000 bucks...

Water in cylinder could be from cracked jug.

I'd by it for $500 if it's in good shape. You never know... it's could be just frozen rings. And... if not... part it out.

Outside doesn't look bad. At least from what I can see. Would definitely want to see in person.

I just bought a 98 GTX Limited with a great engine (just needed a set of hydroturf mats and gray fuel pipes replacing) on a single trailer for $900 - so that one is probably worth more as parts. Unless you can find a cheap used engine I don't think it's worth repairing when there are better ones out there for less than the cost of repairing that one.
