is this a standard intake grate?

hey guys im new to the forum my name is Ryan but everyone calls me shoey i live in victoria australia and so far have found these forums to be a massive help with my new ski!! anyway enough of that i just recently bought a 1997 seadoo gtx and have been looking into getting a new impeller and intake grate to give me better hook up (mainly want to use my ski for towing) so my question is, is this a standard intake grate if not what kind is it? just looks similar to some i have been looking at cheers shoey

No that looks like a r&d aquavein grate

That's a "Top Loader" type intake. (not stock)

If you are looking for better hook-up... leave that grate on, and get a Skat-Trak "Swirl" impeller.

awsome didnt think it looked standard! thats one less thing i need to buy now lucky i didnt just go out and buy one without looking first haha thanks heaps guys!!

You should already have one...esp if you ride rough water much! They do scrub to a mph or two on top but where I ride its worth it.
