Is there an easy way to get a few more MPH from my 2011 Wake 155?

Hey guys,

I purchased a 2011 Wake 155 last summer and it's been great. Been having a great time with it, but just wish it was a little faster. It tops out at about 55/56 in good conditions. I'd love to get a few more mph, but not looking to do any complicated, or pricey mods.

Is there something easy, and relatively inexpensive I can do to get this thing just a little faster?

What would you suggest and how much would it increase my speed?

Thanks all!

Cost is an important part of increasing speed. You can change the impeller but in most cases I you increase the top end speed you lose low end performance. You can change the intake tube system pretty cheap and often gain 1 or 2 MPH. You can get a tune to raise the engine RPMs fairly cheap but it will shorten the engine life. Some have removed the intake grate and gained performance but this is on smooth water pretty much. On choppy water you want a top-loader grate.

An impeller might get you 1-2mph on top but with the 155 you may not have enough power to turn it down low and you'll lose a substantial amount of acceleration which is important in a wake model for pulling tubes or skiers.
