for me to stand up in seadoo sportster boat while it is moving? I know it might not be the safest thing to do, but it is a blast! Buddy told me its against the law.... how's THAT?

I doubt that its against the law for you to stand in your OWN boat, if a DNR drove by while u were, i doubt they would do anything

Why would it be illegal to stand up on your boat moving or not??? Never heard such a thing but then again tara, you live near Washington DC so anything goes.:rofl:

The “on the water” laws change from state to state… and from municipality. In PA… it is perfectly legal to stand in a boat while under way, although it is highly suggested to sit. If you are under 12… you must sit, and wear a life jacket on a boat under 16 feet. If they made it illegal to move around on a boat while under way… how would any of the deck boats be used, or large pleasure craft??

Anyway… you will have to check with your state because there may be a law on standing in a boat under a given length/HP.

who knows..lol. I saw someone on their stand up ski, so i thought wow that looks fun and tried it on the boat. Only going 35 mph or so, and no handle bars. lol. If i have to wear a seatbelt in the car, but its not illegal to ride motorcycles that are much less safe than a car...well go figure.

im sure its probably not illegal. if it were they would put seatbelts in boats. im sure you would only get in trouble doing it if you were doing somthing else while standing like, oh i dont know, playing a trombone

In Florida it's against the law to be standing in a bouncing boat and drinking a Beer while under way...

it's called alcohol abuse...:rofl::rofl::rofl:
