Intake Grate Removal

Has anyone removed the intake grate on the 4-Tec boats Speedster 150 in particular ? I found out the hard way, the front bolt is (a) held by a lock nut inside the hull (b) breaks off easily.

So question is, has anyone gotten the lock nut off and remkved the grate ? I cant find it around the jungle of hoses.

Biggest pain in the ass ever. I have a 180 Challanger,I am going to assume it is the same. The nut and washer are under the impeller shaft just before it enters the engine. You are going to need help and make sure you wear long sleeves or you will get scarred up. Good luck
