The 2005 Sportster 4-tec 155 that I just purchased, is missing the egg-crate insulation from the engine cover storage lid. Definitely, louder and a bit of rattle happening when running. Looking for suggestions as to where to find appropriate insulation that will deaden sound/vibrations and withstand the heat of the engine compartment. Thanks in advance!

I've looked at dynamat, looks like a good option. I just stumbled across another option online: Sound Insulation - Vinyl Foam Barrier Composite - Soundtec | Fisheries Supply

I've recently just stacked the storage compartment with towels, vests and other take alongs for an outing and haven't really noticed as much noise/rattle as when it's empty.

I'll probably get to insulating this later this season or over the winter. Just time to get out right now and enjoy!
