installing a vts from a 1996 gti into a 1995 xp

installing a vts from a 1996 gti into a 1995 xp... could anyone tell me if they are the same or point me in the right direction where i could cross refrence the part numbers to check. theres a complete setup on ebay for cheap and mine is not working and the main linkage shaft is broken off. (just noticed it) some of the prices for just the motor are crazy money. they both look the same.

You might want to go to our"parts" link and compare part numbers. Years that close should be interchangeable I would think. You could also try seadoo.com and go to their parts link as well.

yeah i noticed that as i was looking at the part list. they have it listed wrong on ebay then. looks the same as mine.
