Here are some pictures of my new installation:

Its not as nice as Dr. Hondas, but I will get it straight once I have a little more time...

Looks good. Let me know if it folds back onto the deck lid better than mine. I may buy the 83" if it does. If it doesn't... I'm going to get rigid rear mounts to just hold it up when it's in the boot.

It fits back perfectly? im not sure what you mean, it folds back nice, I even put my cover back on if thats an indication... However, I cannot easily open the rear storage deck with the bimini folded?

I do want to thank you very much for letting me know about the 83 inch, I got the 84" just because of your recommendation, that was extremely nice of you. And I am very sure that you will get rewarded somehow!

I got the 76" wide, so it's actually spread apart at the base, but since it is soft aluminum... it works fine while up. But... if I try to fold it back... my top hits the edges of the rear deck in the middle of the top tubes, before the fabric top section sits on the deck lid. Basically, it will rub, and not lie flat.

I hate to just buy a new top... but if the 84" sits nice on the deck... and under the cover... I may just have to.

If you think about it... take a pic of it folded back.

Thanks.

Wow... for $1700 you got a smokin' good deal. The boat is in very nice condition, and the engine seems to run fine. :hurray:

The only thing I noticed from the vids is that it seems to be cavitating. Is it?? With you and only one other person in it (assuming you only had 2 people from the vid) You should be able to mash the throttle to full, and have it almost just jump out of the water.

If it's not... I would just do a pump service, and while in there... replace the carbon seal, and install a Skat-Trak Swirl impeller. SeaDooya is local to you, and he could probably give you a hand.

Once again... smokin' deal. With the weather getting nice... I would have sold that boat for $3500.

Wow thank you Dr. Honda, yes you are very smart, the engine seems like it doesnt want to go.

I had to drive it back full throttle (but it only went 1 mph) like it was handicapped, and this white smoke kept coming out of it, I kept putting "starter" fluid in the air filter (someone suggested it?) and it started back up again, but then it died again.

How do you do a pump service? what does it involve..

whoever told you to use starting fluid, needs a left hook thrown at them....not smart, bud. You have NO lubrication. Get yourself a compression gauge, and see whats going on in there..(cylinders). Sounds like, if motor isnt toast, you have a fuel delivery issue, i wasnt able to listen to the video, but 1mph, dying out, and smoke = NOT GOOD. Anyway, awesome deal, you beat me to it..

OK... I may give things a sniff of starter fluid to get them running after the winter thaw... but it's not a good idea to use it to refire an engine when it's already been running, and like Seadooya said... there is no lube in it, so it's hard on a 2 stroke.

I thought from your vids... it was running, (with speed) but just cavitating.

I wouldn't worry too much about the smoke right now. When older seadoo engines sit, they have a tendency of leaking oil into the crank case... and they smoke for a while. I have a new crank... and at low RPMs... I get smoke... but it clears out once I'm out running for a few minutes. (at high speed)

If your engine is dieing when you start to push the throttle up... your carbs need cleaned out. My boat was the same way when I picked it up.

Thank you Dr. Honda (Tony?).

Do I just remove the air box, how do I clean my carbs? do you think I should just take it to a shop?

Sorry for all my questions...

Where in Downey are you? I'll be close to Firestone/5 I'm heading to Woodland Hills around 5pm, so anytime before that, i can drop by.....pm me

Well Dr. Honda, thanks..

Seadooya came over and looked at my boat, we found some things, first of all the security key wire was not setup correctly so thats why my boat was turning off.

Also, the wearing on my propeller was all shot out, like it was chewed up by something.

Also the propeller was completely warped.

Seadooya took it and and is installing a new wearing and a resurfacing my propeller (impeller?).

Also hes putting in new spark plugs and going through my carbs...

Seadooya said thats why it wasnt going so fast, so hopefully now its gonna go faster!

Thanks by the way... and thanks seadooya for coming over..

Anytime bud...yeah, the wear ring was all WADDED up in there. Should have that ring in a few days, sending the impellor to get reconditioned today, so, its getting tthings moving in right direction.....Was thinking, when parts are in and pump assy ready for install, that yuo bring boat to the house, to install everything, doo the carbs, then we can bounce to lake?
