Hi All, I have got a 1996 XP and was just wondering what size inflatable ringo my jet ski is capable of pulling? I was hoping to get either a two person one or a three person one. Or is it capable of pulling one of the huge ones? I dont want to put too much strain on either the engine or the hull so if you guys could let me know I can get myself one ready for the season.:hurray: And is it best to go for one of the high volume hand pumps to inflate it or a 12 volt compressor that pump tyres up etc? Thanks Guys. Steve

I personally would stick to pulling one person jets because that ski is so small and the age of the motor. I'm not sure about the UK but here in the states, or at least in most states you have to have a three seater to "legally" pull a tube, one person driving one person facing backwards and the then tuber. I know most ppl don't follow theses rules but just saying:cheers:

Yep same rule / law applies in South Africa, you need to have a observer looking out for any skier or tube being pulled at all times.

Quite interesting how the rules / laws are not much different in the marine environment.

Thanx Guys. Not sure about the laws over her so I will have to check but I am lucky enough to be a member of a club with a closed membership of 20 people and never seen any more than about 6 there at any one time so its very "relaxed" shall we say! Hehe. So if I was on my own on the jetski would it be capable of pulling a 2 person inflatable with 2 people on it? Not disregarding anything you say but have never managed to even get anybody on the back of the ski co we always end up falling off before we get seated!! Hehe. I am sure there is an art to it but I haven't found it yet! Hopfully learn a lot more this year cos I only got about 2 months experience last year and its my first ski. Spent more time mending it than riding it but I am nearly ready for a full year at it now!! Roll on Spring!! Thanx again Guys. Steve

Just a quick follow up to my previous question. Do you guys think my ski will pull one of the sportsstuff wet and wild flyer inflatables with one or two people on it and just me on the ski? Or should I go for the sportsstuff stunt flyer? What do you guys with a 96 XP pull? I will try and put a couple of links in here but don't be surprised if they are not here! I am well aware of my forum limitations!! Hehe.
Cheers, Steve

I just got a 96 xp and wanted to pull someone. Wow I didn't know you have to pull something that huge. So we really can't pull a one person tube???

Yes course you can pull a small one Mate. I am just waiting for someone to tell me the biggest one I can pull cos I don't want to get one that is too big for my xp to pull. Hoping to get a bigger ski next year so don't want to buy a small inflatable this year and then have to buy a bigger one next year.

Just wondering what size towable a 2002 GTX can pull. I have a 3 seater that i used to pull with my challenger, but dont know if this one will do it....

This engine 787cc has MORE than enough power to pull 2 people on an inflatable, plus you aswell, driving of course. Its just a matter of if you wanna put that kind of stress on a engine thats over 10 years old. If you have a strong running, freshly, or recently rebuilt engine it will do more than fine, i just wouldnt give'r for hours on end, obviously. Just remember these engines were more designed to pull YOU for performance, not to pull weight.

My 95 xp with the 717 gets a wakeboarder right up and out of the water no problem. Just make sure your cooling system is up to par and youve got good synthetic in the engine!

just my .02

cheers

At my aunts lake cottage we have a 96xp800 and it pulls a tube with 2 teenagers but steering is a forever game of hunting for the straight pull, I think cause that jetski is a handful at lo/mid throttle and the chance of getting in trouble increases when you look like a drink driver but it will pull 3 on a upside down picnic table if ya wanna get a little crazy.

Thaks Guys,
Maybe I should get a picnic table instead? Hehe. Took my ski out on Saturday for the first time this year and the starter motor died on me! A new Seadoo one is £300 so guess my inflatable will have to wait a bit longer. Hey Ho......... I will only probably be pulling two at the most anyway and it will only be for 10 mins at a time so my ski should be ok. Thanx for your replies. Take Care. Steve
