I was trying to hook my cousin up with a jet pump and impeller (for a 1996 GTX) from my spare stack and now I have a question. The 1996 XP and 1996 GTX both use a 16/23 prop but they have different part numbers. The XP is a 271 000 754 the GTX is a 271 000 660 . I only ask because I have a jet pump impeller combo ready to go is for a 1996 XP. I guess something is different but the numbers make me go... Hmmmmmm.

I researched impellers for weeks when I was trying to get my xp dialed in. So many pitches, so many numbers. A friend had a brand new impeller that I threw in and it worked miracles for my machine. The part number said it was the RH impeller for a 94 speedster.

I never did figure out the differences between different numbers with similar pitches except that after I printed out a pitch gauge I figured mine is a 15/21 but with a much more streamlined/pointed inner "cone" when compared to other 15/21s I had seen.

Hmmmm that's interesting. I was thinking that since the 96 XP and GTX had the same pitch impeller I could give the XP impeller a shot. I don't like taking stuff back apart though so... I'm gonna go with what they say. We'll just do my cousins ski using his jet pump and impeller.

I just put a performance impeller on a 97 GTI. The old impeller was stuck on the shaft. I told him I wanted to know how fast the ski went. Before he left I said.... "Be sure to put the plugs in." I was gonna do it but didn't. He called me 2 hours later. "I sunk both the skis." He left today and I said, "Dude I STILL wanna know how fast this thing goes !!! My wife put the plugs in place for him. LOL Just like she does for me. :D :D
