idle issues please help

2002 gtx rfi idle is real low when first started, after warm up and riding around idle is normal at 1400 or so . idleing while going under a bridge iidle gets lower around 950 or so and seams to get loaded up some. runs perfect other wise top end has 10 hours. no performance issues just idles kind of weird and is a little tough to start warm in water. any ideas?

The injectors could be starting to leak, and are allowing the engine to load up. OR... the regulator is not working properly. OR... the TPS needs reset. (TPS reset is the cheapest)

how do you reset tps? and can idle be adjusted manualy or is there special tools needed? ski runs excellent other than idle and sometime will idle fine but after 2 mins of idling it drops a little. idle is low at cold start up which is odd.

On some of them... yes, the idle can be adjusted... but if you didn't lower it manually... then I don't recommend trying to raise it. You may find yourself trying to idle, and are moving at 10 MPH. The problem needs fixed correctly.

Unfortunately... the dealer has to do the TPS reset, unless you want to buy home BUDS system. (about $400) The dealer should charge you $30 or less to do it.

Can the low speed idle be set on the 2 carb gsx? if so how? i have the book but it really doesnt say anything about that!? i want it set just a tad bit higher! thanks

Yes... on the carb versions, you can adjust the idle at will. It's a screw by where the throttle cable is attached to the MAG carb. FYI... only adjust the idle while in the water.
