So my 2015 gtx 155 had an ibr failure with 17 hours and after 1 month of being bought off the showroom. I hope it's not a sign of things to come because i am really disappointed. It's being covered on warranty though but kinda sucks

My 2015 gti has been in the shop several times for Ibr failure. They have replaced almost every component. Now they are saying they have to replace the entire engine harness. In my opinion IBR is not worth the hassle.

In my case the ibr module /motor is what went out... I prefer the old style

gosh! i hope i don't have issues on my 2015 gti! i only have 5 hours so far and wont have much more by the time my warranty runs out next july 3rd. makes me wonder if i should have taken the 5 year warranty rather than the 1000$$ rebate?
did they have a older style ibr? or hopefully they issue a recall on the ibr if proves faulty.

I would have paid the extra cash. I wasn't offered the extra 4 years

you can still buy the 48 month best warranty for 599.00 as long as you buy it before your 1 year warranty expires. i am thinking along those lines myself. it would be a 50.00 deductable.

yup keep the warranty rolling because the ibr's are going to keep breaking they usually fail around 100 to 200 hours i have a 2011 gti with 800 hours and replaced the ibr 4 times i keep asking the dealer if there is something that can be done to prevent them from breaking they have no idea if anybody knows what the fault is on these ibr's please speak up i am guessing it is a seal that goes and the circuit board fries or the ibr motor, why has bombardier not improved this part?

IBRs can be a weak link. Mine has been perfect with one exception. I had a junk battery that tripped IBR Module Codes and but it in limp mode. Had to buy the Candoo Pro in order to clear the codes.

So I didn't really have an IBR issue as much as I had a cause and effect issue.

Battery went bad and caused my IBR concerns.

Cost me a battery and a Candoo Pro.. Not a cheap weekend, but worth it.

Wait till u use it trying to brake at 65mph and those plastic bracket break

There is a software update that helps with this issue.

It lowers the bracket a bit until specific speed is reached and then it lowers it all the way.

Before, it lowered all the way and the drag was simply too much..

Just to let u know without the IBR unit ur ski goes faster. The skis I have that doesn't have it goes 72 mph while the one with it too out at 68 mph

software update? please explain.

i wonder what part if the ibr goes bad? is it electrical beyond the plugs such as water seeping in the case of do they just burn out? trying to do preventive maint. dont want to be caught beyond the warranty and have to pay 1299 for a new unit:( even though its very likely that i will upgrade to the 48 mo best before the 1 year runs out.

software update? please explain..

The Brake worked so well that it created a serious "Nose Dive" issue when the brake was applied at speed. So much so, that the ski would o under the water and act like a fishing lure and dive down.

The software update changed it so that the bucket lowers only part of the way until a specific speed, then the bucket lowers all the way. This update eliminated the serious nose dive...

seems like nobody knows what really goes wrong with the ibr's i have been asking this question for months and nobody knows just got my seadoo back with new ibr ,4th ibr last one failed at less then 10 hours see how long this one lasts guessing it wont last more then 50 hours and it will fail again
