should i just dump the boat and sell the trailer? is this worth anything to anyone? not trying to sell it here, just looking for the OK to junk it. :ack:

That boat has tons of promise.. just needs a little cleaning up ..
From the pictures you have everything you need...
Bust out the soap and water and put it all back together...
I hate seeing nice little boats rot!

it was bought by a family member and left here. it was out on the coast so it has some corrosion here and there. more here then there. supposedly it has been port and polished but looking at it i'd say it hasn't been. EVERYTHING is disconnected, loose or missing. there were weeds growing from the ground up thru the main seal into the engine compartment. it was pretty funny. the paint is shot, it all wipes off if you touch it. the mirrors, controls and speaker covers are shot. crumbling and corroded. the seats need to be redone.

the hull looks clean and damage free. :hurray:

there is NO current title on the trailer or boat. i have no idea where it stands. it was never registered to anyone here. it was basically bought and backed into that spot 4years ago. hasn't moved since. :(

I still have to say take and inventory of all the parts and clean all the dirt and grime off the boat/in the boat...
And just do a complete rebuild, this site alone has enough knowledge and information to get you moving fast....
All the plastics can be sanded and repainted.... I see a real pearl there under all that dirt....
but you also could make some money by just parting out the boat as well....
File a lost title on the boat and trailer can be registered straight forward. Talk to the DMV or parks and wildlife office to get that straightened out...
GOOD LUCK and Have fun!

Part it out then dump it.

Engine, carbs, exhaust, pump anything you can take out. Even the seats. Don’t mater if they are faded. If the foams are good you can sell it.

My boat looked that bad when I got it. You have an easy $1500 in parts in that boat... if the engine isn't rotten. Don't "junk" it. Part it out, I'm doing that with an XP right now.

PM'ing you about parts

i have NO paperwork. the registered owner is deceased. i'm not sure what is happening with the title. i'd have to g to DMV to find out.

It's worth something to someone title or not. It's really not that hard to get a title. You have to apply for a bonded title. There are services that can do just that. Around here they charge about 150 bux. Really I would see what you can do with it. More than likely that stuff that you can rub off when you touch it is not paint it's oxidation. Alittle polishing would make it shine again. I would check into getting the title then if you can decide from there what to do.

@Faded...

You definitely have options. If you want a project it looks like the boat to give you one of those. Mine was in similar shape as well when I got it. A few bucks later, a lot of time, patience and elbow grease and it running like new and looks pretty decent too.

If you're looking to get rid of it, for the time it would take you could part it out and make some money off of it. Everyone is always looking for something and I'm sure you'd be helping people out. Then once its pretty much stripped there's always those local guys who will come and haul things away for free so they can scrap out what's left.

With that said... PM sent :)

If I were you, I'd have it done by now. I'm one of those rebuild/fix/construct freaks. I love turning 'dead' stuff into something great. If you really deside to dump it though, tell me and I'll give you an address where you should dump it to.
