I don't want to install a stereo head, but I DO want tunes!

I went out and looked at the hatch when we had the boat out this weekend, and the curve on the back is slight enough that I am sure we can get the speakers to lay flush. I may need to use a little more sealant on one side, but I think it will work ok.

Like I said earlier, I have the boat on the northeast side of Houston where we are going to be moving sometime in the next few weeks. Speakers are in storage, and I need to track them down and pull them out. Then do the work, but I don't want to get started until we are living on the same side of town as the boat.

Housing market sucks. We are ready to buy, but we cannot seem to sell the one we are in now...:(

Here's what I did for my GTX. Small amp Small speakers. Surprisingly loud and clean sound. Very happy. I'm the last post on page 1 and 1st post on page 2 http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=12442&highlight=pwc+stereo
Here's a link to where I purchased it http://www.gooddeals18.com/product/SHKCYCLERADIOKIT250/250_watts_Motorcycle__yacht_2_speakers__amplifier__radio_pkg.html :)

Update. I flipped the seadoo on the weekend and it was under for about 20 seconds, I righted it, the water poured out of the speakers and 2 seconds later the speakers came alive. Awesome. :)

OK, went and priced the electronic connections and it wouldn't be that much more to just do the electrically controlled doohicky that automatically senses when one battery is low and charges both, and also singles out one battery for engine, and one for music. Here is the A/B/Both switch ($34) and down and to the left, for $69 is the automatic switch.

Would I be better off and happier with spending the extra $30? Is this a reliable part, or should I rely on my own fingers to flip the switch?

I prefer the switch and it saves 30 bucks. It really is just personal preference. Either work fine.

Just like any audio system, it will work fine. It is just a a matter of how long you use it with the boat not running. I ran my whole system with a pretty big amp last year with the boat off for 45 minutes and never killed the battery. This small setup shouldnt drain much. As always though, it may not work the same for you. Take a jump pack out with you and you dont have to worry about it.

Battery Killer!

Don't go too big on the Amp,
Eats up batteries like crazy!

I thought a new Marine Optima deep cycle could live, but good times & loud tune can kill any battery!

Make sure you wire the Amp power trigger properly otherwise the amp will be ON all the time consuming power, no volume can still kill a battery overnight...

or take the amp power from the disconnect switch -Off = no power.

Adam.

I don't have one yet but probably should invest in one of these jump packs, especially if I'm going to hook up some tunes and run a single battery.

Any recommendations on a jump pack? I'm assuming they're all similar and get the job done.
