somehow i have managed to break one of my purple plastic stabilizing thingys. could have been when i was parked on the shore and the waves were rocking it. there were a few rocks nearby. my buddy says i did it when i was jumping waves. either way i need to replace it and it seems to be a toughy. there is styrofoam inside so i can't see how it is attached. i'm assuming there are some 10mm nuts back there or something?

so i need to know:

what is this thing called?

where can i purchase new ones, possibly an upgrade?

how the heck do i change them out?

thank you for any help.

it's called a "sponson" and i found a nice set of racing ones that i really want to throw on there. http://www.worxusa.com/Products.cfm?category_id=3&pk_manufacturer_id=5

they are held on with a molded in bolt that passes thru the hull and is attached with a nut on the back side. on the current ones anyway. they appear to be an absolute pain-in-the-ass to replace. it must be done though. :boxing_smiley:

It's called a "sponson" and its needed on Helicopters and in this case PWC's for stability and help against capsizing.
You should replace it since its not all that expensive. Check out this parts site:
http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/leadersmarine/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=46&B=16

The parts pics also show the nuts/bolts you may need for replacement.

Good luck.
