Doing a complete rebuild on 717 and switching to premix setup with block off plate.

Realize the rotary valve will still be hooked to the oil tank for lube. Would there be any benefit to running some sort of high grade synthetic oil through this cavity and possibly installing a inline pump to push this fluid through? Thoughts please.

No need for a pump since the oil in the cavity is, more or less, stagnant during normal use.

The rotary valve rotax motor has been around far longer than sea-doos have been. Racers running ski-doos would cap off the lower rv cavity fitting, on the upper fitting they ran a short hose up to a transparent bottle that held maybe a quarter of a pint of oil to act as act as a sight glass.

Remember though, the oil injection systems on the sea-doos is bullet proof, the most reliable system out there. Like I tell everyone, you have a far better chance of getting straight gas in the tank then you do of having the oil injection fail.

Thanks for the reply. Would a high performance oil in this cavity be of any advatage? I'll be running Klotz premix.

No it wouldn’t.
And just so you know Klotz is good oil but it doesn’t meet Seadoo spec for your engine. It isn’t the oil you should be using.

Lucas API-TC, Seadoo XPS mineral, Mystic, Amsoil Interceptor Seadoo XPS synthetic.
