hydrolocked 1999 speedster

Went to look at a 1999 speedster with the 110hp engines. One engine would not turn over. I thought it might be hydrolocked. Owner says that he did not add oil to cylinders when he winterized. Took plugs out and turned over, both cylinders filled with oil. Turned over until oil was purged, then started to clean up mess. Let sit for 5 minutes. Turned over again, filled with oil in one cylinder. Oil pump issue? Any info would be appreciated.

The crank or the rotary valve seal is leaking. It may not be a big deal. If you get it started, and out on the water... you can give it a proper "Blowing out."

My boat does that a little, and after a few minutes of full throttle, it clears out, and isn't a problem if it sits for a month or so. But after winter... it needs blown out again.

Oil Pump?

The oil injection pump only puts out just drops when the engine runs.
There is a chamber between the cylinders with the gears that drive the
Rotary valve. That chamber is filled with oil. If a seal between the gears and
the connecting rod leak, oil will fill the crankcase with oil. It might even get
up in to the cylinder. This has happened to Me.
I removed both plugs and tried to start the motor. Didn't work for Me.
I used a Mity-vac (hand held Vacuum pump) and Pumped out the oil thru
the carbs. When i could get the motor to spin I put a rag on top of the Plug
holes and hit the starter. Also put something on top of the rag to hold it down.
It will fly, so will the oil. Once the engine spins fast enough, Put in a set of
plugs or two or three till it runs. You may want to do this outdoors cause
its gonna Smoke! BIG! Another Mistake I made.
I've been running mine all last summer with no Problems.
