Don’t forget the two lines on the inside of the hull either... Depending on how they sealed the pump the last time it was off, they can be a real pain to get free. In the past, I’ve had to take a ratchet strap or come along and attach it to something solid while the trailer was hooked to the truck. Then you can crank on the ratchet strap to put tension on the pump until it breaks free. Make sure everything is disconnected and free before you try to go that route though...

I saw this type of method on a youtube video, but wasn't sure it wasn't just a joke.... as the guy attached the skis pump to a tree and drove off. It pulled it right out but i am sure I
would tear more stuff up if I tried it this way.

Lol. I’ve seen that same video... I wouldn’t go that far with it, but I do prefer to pull the pump off rather than trying to pry it off. I use the ratchet straps so that I can slowly add tension until it pulls off. You’re pulling with the straps, not the trailer. While I’ve felt like hooking it to a tree and hitting the gas, I can’t imagine it going well...

Yes i disconnected the 2 line for the pump, the owner before me use black Silicon gasket maker on everything and Trip out all kinds Nuts and bolts in the case .

Pull and wiggle. Did you remove the driveshaft clip at the seal?
I work on it today, my don't have the driveshaft clip it still have the oring, what do i need to do to get the oring off? Can i pull the pump 1st than try to remove the driveshaft?

Just slide the stainless ring back and use a small screwdriver to slip under the o-ring and remove it. It should have the C clip any way, that O'ring is a certain trip to the bottom of the lake if that stainless hat pops forward. Don't ask me how I know.

Ok i will try that tomorrow, just cut it remove the O'ring that all i need to do ? what about the Tridon Clamp ?

Leave the bellows and everything alone. Just pull back, break the o-ring and slide it forward. The video was from my 96 XP, same concept

So back in 96 I bought a 96 XP brand new, put a UMI intake grate on it and was out on the river and it forced more water into the pump it pushed the stainless ring forward and the boat filled with water. Thankfully we were in shallow water and a fisherman was trolling by and asked if I needed help and he drug me to shore. Drained the water out, pushed it back together, rude home gently and called UMI. Found out Seadooo had a fix for those o-rings and it was a metal C-clip. So, that's what happened. Neat concept with the o-ring but just not strong enough to hold. It was obviously happening with stock skis since they already had the fix out there.

You are correct, but now is the time to inspect the shaft where the carrier bearing rides. If you're that far in, I just don't trust who's been in there before me.
Finally i got it out you are correct i don't trust the guy i got it from when i pull the pump only 3 screws and only 1 nut still on it , nothing but missing screws/part lol where the nuts a big junk is break off and gone.

I am gping to order a C-clip for My HX but my HX doesn't have the parts # so any body know if 98 GSX C-clip would work for my HX, GSX C-clip parts #272000135

The c-clip will work. The HX is just old enough that the diagrams show the obsolete o-ring instead of the clip everyone should be using.
