another thinking today.

I was wondering myself, what if someone takes off the jetpumps on a speedster twin 110, and modify it to have direct drive dual propellers?

That thing would be insanely fast?

Pump power output is 88HP, direct drive prop would be 220. I'm trying to imagine my boat with nearly 3 times the power... wet dream.

Don't take this the wrong way... but It would defeat the point of buying a jet boat... and IMO... a little gay.

You would loose the ability to run in shallow water, the safety of no exposed props, and the ability to drive it like a big jetski. (with props and rudders, it wont spin)

Yes, you would be able to move more water with a prop... but it wouldn't guaranty more speed since you loose velocity with a prop. The only way to get that velocity back, is to run surface drive... but the Rotax engines may not like that since they are RPM limited.

What about steering and reverse? This sounds like my air-bike when I was 13, it went like all holy smokes, passed cars but could not stop, thank god I knew my way around peoples yards without fences, it was born of a 3hp lawn mower motor and a 3blade industrial fan mounted on wood screwed to the rear tire rack, what a blast till mt little brother layed it down and bent the blades off - sibling rivalry was bad that nite....

I was just thinking about speed, i know it doesn't make sense, but twin 110HP prop 16' very light boat, that would be very fast i think.

Doc. LMAO, it would probably only be fun for the first few runs anyways..... like those pointless $400,000 cigar boats..(fountain, scarab, ect...) what the hell is the point haul butt across the lake and back.... i dont get it.... while they look cool, and may make your testostrone level rise, you cant do anything with it...just go fast, i would imagine it would get boring rather quickly, then you'll be sittin there wondering why the heck did i do this.......but you know Prober, al in all, it's your boat and your money, do whatever float's YOUR boat homie... if you do it let us know how fast she goes... and if your eyes peel back when she's wide open!!!! lol good luck
