my last run out,one of my motors was staling out. after a few attemps it idles but very ruff, once you increase throttle the motor stalls or runs with no power.
the wear rings on both jets were changed this spring....but with these symtoms i figured cavatattion for sure.
the other engine runs great....i swaped plugs....i only use high octane fuel.
one thing i didnt do was a compression test though.
its just strange....on the trailer it runs but very low idle and in the water it takes several attemps to even get er started.
im wondering if ill have to tear into the motor?
could it just be a carb issue....not enough spark for fuel....cant be the rings, there's no blowby will running other than whats normal.
id rather fix this issue myself than go to the stealership.
any insight would be great....

thanks boys

sorry forgot to mention...my craft is a 1998 seadoo speedster with twin 787's

First I would check to see if has the Gray tempo fuel lines....If so...change them ASAP.

Post back with findings and the compression test results

What sdb said.Also.Do the compression test.Dont put the cart before the horse.Comp test will detail what it may,or may not be.

Agree with other posters, do compression test (you'll know where your at) also, check your Exhaust Rave Valves, just pop the black cover off (be careful though there is a spring under there).

Reason I'm suggesting this is I have been having issue like your describing and though it was carbs etc. Turns out to be my rave valve caps being melted. It is worth checking and is very simple to do.

Did this happen all of a sudden (after your last run)? Or is this something that has been getting worse for a while and is now at the point where you need to address it? There's several things it could be (as mentioned above). A cracked spark plug will match your symptoms too. Not cracked off, but a crack in the ceramic that allows the spark to escape.

He said he swapped plugs...
